Got Jesus?

"Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" Acts 16:30 ESV
Just as the Philippian Jailer asked the Apostle Paul, you may be asking yourself, "what must I do to be saved?"
There are five steps to Salvation according to the New Testament.
  1. Hear the Gospel, Romans 10:14 (If you are reading this, your "hearing" about the Gospel/Good News of Jesus Christ)
  2. Believe in your heart that Jesus died for your sins, and rose from the dead three days later, and is Lord.   (Romans 10:9,10)
  3. Confess with your mouth "Jesus is Lord." (Romans 10:9,10) There are several different "versions" of a sinners prayer. You are humbling yourself before the God of the Universe, and confessing the need for forgiveness of your sins through faith in Jesus Christ, and declaring that he is Lord, not only of the Universe, but of your life.
  4.  Repent of your sin. To be "repentant" not only means to ask for forgiveness, but also to "turn away" from sin. (Acts 2:38,3:19)
  5. Be baptized (full submersion) in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38,  1 Peter 3:21)
I highly recommend contacting a local Church, you can find one here at the Christian Church/Church of Christ Directory.
Although this is a nutshell account of the plan of salvation, I recommend that you talk face to face with a solid Christian. Feel free to post any questions.
